Labrador Park MOE adventure centre

It was quite a fun day today.. so-so la.. we ( cca leaders, class reps and pe reps of sec 2 ) went to Labrador Park ( MOE adventure centre ) today. We went as student supports. We were split into 6 different groups randomly, and played games together with the cat high guys ( =.= ).. We shared what was the most memorable thing to each individual, and shared what have we learnt from the games and activities during the debrief at the end of the whole session. The whole thing lasted from arnd 9am till arnd 4pm, we were then brought back to our own schools and dismissed.

At first, my group had difficulties succeeding in the games due to lack of communication and also because we didn't strategize before hand. Throughout the day, we made improvements. We were more strategic and we communicated better with the cat high guys. This made it easier to solve the 'problems' given, giving a sense of achievement in each and everyone of us (not sure abt the guys). I personally felt that the very last game we played, or probably the last problem that was given to us involved alot of thinking, team work, communication and strategizing. The whole group had to cross over the 'electrical fence', which was tied quite high up to 2 pillars at the side, without breaking contact within anyone with the group. ( Shoes touching each other is counted as a contact, so it didn't have to be hand to hand ) This was a rather challenging problem. We had to think of how the first and last person were going to cross over and who should be the first and last ones to cross over. Still, we managed to succeed by the second attempt ( i think), which was quite satisfying. I thought it was quite impossible when we first saw how high the 'fence' was, but we still did it! :D

That marked the end of our day at the Labrador Park. Apart from team work, communication and strategizing, i also learnt that we have to lend our ears to others at times, where ideas are 'piled' up and we pick one as our solution from the 'pile'. It was a fun and enriching day for me :)
