I was really happy when I saw this Juz Today email that came in which had a "Tweezer (epilator) @ $9.90 only!" promotion in it.
So just one click and I was brought to the page. Everything seemed good, and I thought $9.90?! Good deal there! I might just be able to snob my sister who bought an epilator for more than SGD100. So, I bought it. Delivery time was good! Everything seemed good! Product was from Princess Gems & Crystals. The package came in the usual envelop, and there were brochures included inside, with my purchased product. I opened the package and everything seemed fine, so I just kept it aside.
So just the day before yesterday, I took it out to use it. IT WAS BAD!
Initially I thought it was fine, BUT, I barely used it for a min and it gave off a plastic burning smell. The smell really made me feel uncomfortable. Obviously, I stopped using it.
I wanted to keep everything back and thus took out the 2 AAA batteries. The batteries were new, they couldn't have been the problem! So I took a closer look and I saw a black plastic strip that was hanging out of the machine.
If you take a look at their product description, it says suitable for all areas. So why the fault in the product?
A pic of the product.
The tweezer and brush (given).
Batteries are not included, you got to buy your own.

Another instance was my experience with Bottom Slim.
I have never, NEVER, had the thought of stepping into a slimming centre because I felt that they were fake and all. One could never depend on them to slim down the healthy way. And, I was proven right.
I came across a voucher on Juz Today and thought "wow, really?" when I saw the offer of $10 for 8 treatments at Bottom Slim. On top of that, there was a $300 package voucher! I bought the voucher since it was rather cheap. I mean, where can you find an offer like that?? Right?? The minute I bought the voucher, I called up Bottom Slim and made an appointment for the next day. I visited the Novena Square 2 outlet.
Over the phone, I was told that the treatment would last for 2 hours and so I held that kind of expectation when I entered the centre. However, I was ushered to a consultation room and received many explanation about the various problems people usually face and received consultation from the consultant who has been explaining a whole lot of stuff to me before that. So the minute I removed my clothes [I was wearing my undergarments], the consultant started rambling on how serious my problem is for the bottom part of my body and so on.
Immediately after, she introduced a package that I should take up. And there started the hard selling process. The whole package she introduced me cost up to $1000++ and she finally reduced it to $400 after I rejected again and again. So if you come to think of it, these slimming centres are earning a lot aren't they? For one thing, I haven't been really keen on slimming centres in the first place. I thought I'd just try it out for that 8 treatments.
So I told my consultant "it's my first time at a slimming centre and I never ever thought of wanting to slim down through going to slimming centres, I only thought of slimming down the natural way. And, I just wanted to try to see how is the feel like of the treatment as I came across what I thought was a good offer online". My consultant kept telling me "if you would think of buying the voucher, means you want to lose weight one mah. Where got girls don't like good figure and be pretty one". The hard selling lasted for almost 1.5 hours. I insisted I don't want to buy a package and I got a reply like "if you want to try the feel, you can upgrade and pay a little more to try one session first then see if you want to continue".
But no, I just want to try whatever is offered in the voucher don't they understand? After much explanation about the voucher that I bought from Juz Today, the 8 treatments that was mentioned is actually going by body parts! So.... instead of 8 treatments, it's treatment for 8 body parts. For the treatment I did [buy already why don't do right], it was my tummy, inner thigh, outer thigh [yes, inner thigh and outer thigh are considered two different parts -.-] and hips. 1 treatment lasts for 10 minutes [remember I was told I needed to spare 2 hours?] and my consultant combined 2 treatments together so I finished my "8 treatments" in one session, which lasted 20 minutes.
I WILL NEVER STEP INTO A SLIMMING CENTRE AGAIN. IT'S SO USELESS AND THEY JUST DO PURE HARD SELLING. Waste my time.
The receipt I was given after treatment.
Anyway, I just wanna say, have bought a few vouchers from Juz Today before and I haven't had a good experience with any. Maybe it really depends on your luck to get a good deal online! But... then again, Groupon has been fine.
